Lender Representation
Forge Capital Partners is appointed by affiliates of Merricks Capital to act as local representative on a portfolio of loans in New Zealand. Forge is providing on-the-ground representation, expertise and active portfolio stewardship across the loan portfolio.

Senior secured lending on a first mortgage basis. Higher leverage considered with appropriate mitigants.

Short to medium term facilities. Extensions considered subject to review of the underlying position.
Our Team
Managing Director & CIO
Shane has 30 years' experience in the property industry from markets including New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Europe and the Middle East. He has extensive experience in real estate credit and equity investment including raising capital, driving investment strategies for real estate fund business and managing value-add real estate transactions. Shane was previously a partner in Resolution Property, London where he was responsible for executing and managing real estate assets across the United Kingdom and Continental Europe. After 20 years in London, he returned to Auckland at the end of 2021 and most recently lead the real estate credit and equity business at Alvarium New Zealand.
Managing Director & COO
Chris has more than 25 years of experience in the property industry in markets including New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Europe and the Middle East. He has extensive experience across the full capital stack through investing in direct assets, joint ventures, listed, fund and credit investments. Chris was previously Senior Portfolio Manager at the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), where he spent 11 years executing and managing real estate investments across a wide range of sectors throughout Europe. Prior to ADIA, in London Chris held roles as a Director at Dawnay, Day and was an Asset Manager at Cushman & Wakefield. On returning to Auckland in 2022, Chris founded Fairburn Capital Limited, a non-bank lender offering finance to small investors and developers across New Zealand.
